Certified ScrumMaster Course
Many organisations are adopting Agile approaches to improve their software development capability, following the lead of the path-finding Internet era companies who have shown the way to rapid innovation and dominance in their market spaces. The Certified ScrumMaster course will not only provide you with the fundamental principles of Scrum, but also give you hands-on experience with Scrum practices and artefacts in a variety of environments and situations. This 2-day course provides a great foundation for anyone adopting Scrum, the most popular Agile framework.
Scrum is a deceptively simple framework and you will quickly learn about its roles, artefacts and process. However, its adaptive nature and impact on traditional organisational models and ways of working requires a fundamental grasp of the underlying principles for a truly successful implementation.
We put theory into practice in a number of exercises and simulations which are both enjoyable and instructive and you will leave knowing how to apply Scrum to all sizes of projects, from a single co-located team to a large highly distributed team spread across the world.
What you will learn:
• Overview of Scrum
• Scrum Roles
• Product Backlog
• Sprint Planning
• Release Planning
• Tracking Progress
Through practical, hands-on exercises and small-group discussion you will be prepared to plan your first sprint immediately after this class. Successful completion of this course and examination will certify you as a recognised ScrumMaster.
All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Mike Cohn's book Succeeding with Agile: Software Development Using Scrum

Despite its name, this course is not just for ScrumMasters but is an effective primer for anyone who will be closely involved with teams adopting Scrum. This course is aimed at project managers, developers, testers, analysts and managers interested in increasing agility within their projects and working on or with a Scrum team.
This course has no prerequisites. Depending on your experience with agile projects we recommend you familiarize yourself with the Agile Manifesto and Scrum Principles as defined completely in the Scrum Guide by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland, the originators of Scrum.
Following successful completion of the course, you will be qualified and ready to pass the Scrum Alliance assessment exam. This multiple-choice, online test is required to become a Certified ScrumMaster, which includes a one-year membership to the Scrum Alliance, where additional ScrumMaster-only material and information are available. Further information on the certification exam can be found here.
